BBC Apprentice Winners & Their Businesses
Have you ever watched BBC One’s The Apprentice? We’ve worked with the winners!
It’s been our privilege to create websites for a number of BBC Apprentice winners over the years – working on these high-profile projects is always a uniquely rewarding challenge, and we’ve loved getting to know these inspirational entrepreneurs professionally.
Here’s a closer look at the work we’ve done for the Apprentice winners and their businesses…
Sarah Lynn | Sweets in the City
@mrs_sarah_lynn_
@SweetsintheCity
Sarah emerged victorious from the 2017 series of The Apprentice after the final ended in a rare double hiring. Her business, Sweets in the City, sells beautifully-packaged gifts for sweet lovers, and she needed a website that would make it easy for customers to personalise and purchase the products they wanted. We created a website that, in addition to being visually appealing and user-friendly, gives you all kinds of different ways to create the perfect gift for your friend or loved one.
“The Designer Websites team understood our vision and helped bring it to life beautifully. Nothing was a problem, and everything was done on or ahead of time. Thank you!”

Alana Spencer | Ridiculously Rich by Alana

@Ridic_Rich
Alana grew up in Aberystwyth, and before she had even left school, she was baking cakes in her parents’ kitchen and selling them to people she knew. She won The Apprentice in 2016 and enlisted Designer Websites to create the perfect online platform for her business Ridiculously Rich – Alana wanted a website that would allow her team to manage subscriptions, recruit brand ambassadors, and of course sell the company’s scrumptious handmade goodies to hungry customers.
“Designer Websites knew what I wanted (even when I wasn’t sure myself!) and executed it to perfection. Nothing was too much to ask and I couldn’t be happier.”

Dr Leah Totton | Dr Leah Clinics & Skin Care
@DrLeahTotton
@DrLeahClinics
Dr Leah achieved nationwide recognition when she appeared on – and eventually won – the ninth series of The Apprentice in 2013. She and Lord Sugar now co-own a number of cosmetic skin clinics that offer treatments such as facial peels and anti-wrinkle injections. We created a clean, modern-looking website to help promote the Dr Leah clinics – in addition to the detailed explanations of each treatment (complete with ‘Before & After’ photos), the site includes a handy booking system that allows users to arrange their cosmetic treatments online without even picking up the phone.
“I was impressed by Designer Websites as a company – they were fantastic throughout the whole process, and they have created a fantastic website. A pleasure to work with.”

Ricky Martin | Hyper Recruitment Solutions
@RickyMartin247
@Hyperec_HRS
Ricky made a big impression on viewers during his successful stint on The Apprentice in 2012. His company, Hyper Recruitment Solutions, is an elite recruitment agency that specifically specialises in science and technology jobs. Creating the website for HRS was a big job, but we successfully developed a professional-looking site that drives an impressive volume of organic search traffic while making it simple for jobseekers to find and apply for that perfect role.
“We chose the right web developer! Designer Websites completed the work on time, to expectations and without fuss. The team were easy to work with and full of ideas.”
