Broadleaf: Wood Flooring Website
Broadleaf is a British company that specialises in real wood products. They are perhaps best known for their spectacular solid wood flooring, but they also manufacture and supply wooden doors, worktops, beams, trusses, and more. They have multiple showrooms and stockists throughout the UK (as well as locations in Ireland and France), but they wanted to extend their reach even further with a dedicated online store that would allow people to purchase the company’s products no matter where in the country they were. We at Designer Websites helped them to achieve this vision, using our web design and development expertise to create a bespoke ecommerce website that’s perfectly suited to Broadleaf and the products they supply.
Online Payment
Perhaps the most crucial element of the new and improved Broadleaf website is the fact that it allows users to purchase many of the company’s products online. We used Sage Pay integration to provide Broadleaf’s customers with a smooth, secure online payment process, making it easy for them to buy flooring, worktops, and accessories over the web. Some of Broadleaf’s more bespoke products (e.g. doors and oak beams) cannot be purchased online, and so we also included a user-friendly product enquiry form that complements the main shopping basket and makes it easy to ask about these items.
'Your Favourites' Feature
Wood flooring is a big purchase, not to be taken lightly. In fact, this is true of almost everything that Broadleaf offer, and so we wanted to make sure that customers who were ‘just browsing’ would find it easy to return to the website at a later date and pick up where they left off. To this end, we developed a ‘Favourites’ feature, which allows users to create their own accounts and compile a list of ‘Favourites’ by simply clicking a button on the product pages that interest them. This list can then be accessed later, when the customer has made up their mind and is ready to buy!
Technical Questions
Broadleaf, realising that their customers wouldn’t necessarily be experts on wood flooring installation, asked us to make it as easy as possible for site users to find answers to such common questions as “How do you fit a wood floor?” and “What maintenance does wood flooring require?” To this end, the footer of every page on the new Broadleaf site contains a ‘Technical Questions’ section featuring this and other questions; this feature takes users straight to Broadleaf’s FAQ section, where the company have answered all of the big questions relating to their products.
