Slide Candy is a ski equipment rental service serving two popular resorts in France, namely Méribel and La Tania. They got in touch with the Designer Websites team because their existing website was looking outdated, and – more pressingly – it wasn’t mobile friendly. We were asked to deliver a new, responsive design that would look fantastic on all devices and make it easy for skiers in Méribel and La Tania to book the equipment they needed.

Ski Rental Website Design: Slide Candy Slide Candy began with a group of British skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts relocating to France and setting up shop in the Alps. Throughout its history, the company has always emphasised honesty and enthusiasm, and the entire team work hard to ensure they know their products inside out.

Slide Candy is a ‘purely mobile’ business: skiers book their equipment online, and instead of requiring the customer to pick up their gear from the business, the team actually deliver the requested items to the customer’s chalet. It’s a great service that has allowed Slide Candy to keep their costs low while continuing to provide an outstanding service, but it couldn’t succeed without a top-quality website at the centre of it all.

Streamlined Ski Rental Booking Their online booking system – built by the Designer Websites team – is truly comprehensive. Customers can select their resort and tour operator, input their date of arrival, and enter details for each member of their party to ensure that everyone gets the right-sized gear.

Secure Online Checkout The Slide Candy checkout is powered by Sage Pay, giving customers extra piece of mind and ensuring a smooth, uneventful payment process. The whole website uses HTTPS, which means that any information you submit via the Slide Candy site – be it your credit card number or your email address for the mailing list – is sent privately.

A Superb Range of Products Slide Candy offer a wide variety of equipment for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. The company’s new and improved website design makes it nice and straightforward for users to view all of the options at a glance and identify the right gear for them. Better still, Slide Candy provide a fitting service along with delivery.

Custom Functionality As well as a user-friendly booking process the website has a lot of functionality to save the team time, for example a label printing function that allows the team to relate customers to equipment, ensuring the correct items are selected when preparing customer orders before their arrival.

We also developed an arrivals board for the day of arrival, and for the week ahead.

To centralise orders, we developed an integration with the EasyRent Till System, which is used onsite for over the counter orders.

As is the case for most of our client sites we also added a very easy to use custom content management system, which allows the company to manage ski equipment, stock, rental prices, bookings, etc.
